La Sportiva Mountain Cup - Scoring & Awards

SCORING

The scoring will be simple and tabulated immediately after each event, in order to allow participants and spectators to easily follow the Cup throughout the racing season. Results will be posted on this website.

Each race will count equally - there will no premium points for longer distances and no championship at the end.

Overall contenders can enter as few or as many events as they want. They will only be scored on their best six events.

One total additional point will be awarded each time a competitor beats another runner or runners in their category who were in the top ten in their category as of the previous day.

Events will be scored as follows, first through 10th places: 12 - 10 - 8 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1

Highest score wins!

AWARDS

Winners will be crowned after the final event, and their prize money mailed to them within 14 days.

Cash awards are for the overall Cup only, in four divisions: Male and Female, Master and Open.

Scoring will be kept and recognition will also be given to Juniors (under 20) and Veterans (50 and over).

The age category of each competitor will be determined by their age on the date of the first race they enter. However, Master runners may opt to be in the Open category at the conclusion, in which case they are removed from the Master category and awards.

There will be a total of $25,000 in cash awards, awarded as follows:
